Thanks to all who came and visited us over the 2024 season.
Although the season might have seemed short to some, for us it wasn’t really that short.
Once again August was the month for skiing. We were open just under 4 weeks with only a couple of days closed. Some of you who can remember skiing up here in the 80’s will be thinking that is fab, as back then we just hoped for a week or so in the school holidays.
New visitors and our trusty regulars turn up in force and we even had a couple of fully booked Saturday nights in Robinson Lodge. This is becoming a common theme and of course a lot of fun. 😊
Now we push our thoughts to the summer months coming up.
The AGM is on Saturday the 7th of December at 10:00am up the ski field. We will also be having a working bee this weekend. Some will be staying up the field both Friday and Saturday, so come join us. Please email if you are going to attend.
We would also like to say a big thanks to the local business who once again supported us over the year.

And of course, all of you who paid, your subs, came for a visit or just encouraged others to come up.
Looking forward to seeing you all sometime soon.
Cheers,
Team Amuri
STAY IN TOUCH:
a grassroots snow experience at its best!
Hanmer Springs Ski Area is a friendly, fun ski area just 17km from the alpine resort town of Hanmer Springs. From the top of the field there are great views of the surrounding mountains of St James and Molesworth Stations and the distant peaks of the Nelson Lakes National Park.
There are a variety of groomed runs and off piste to choose from for all ages and stages of skill. Slopes can be viewed from the lounge in the Day Lodge so spectators don’t miss out and the beginner’s area is right beside it with excellent open terrain for kids. The ski area is ideal for the family or group of friends for a weekend away with fun filled runs for everyone.
There are three lifts - a Poma, a Rope Tow and the learners area with a Fixed Grip Tow. If you have never used a nutcracker before, Hanmer Springs is a good place to start !
The car park is at the base of the huts and it’s just a short walk to the tows. There are no queues so you can get in as many runs as your body can handle and the tows operate until you want to stop! The cosy mountain accommodation is backpacker style and is self catering, so don’t forget to bring supplies.
To top off a perfect day or weekend in the mountains a soak in the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools will ease the strain on the muscles. The village also has some great Restaurants and Bars, and even a nightclub for those with stamina!
